Adriana Barbosa

SP

Feira Preta

Diretora-Executiva do Instituto Feira Preta e fundadora do Festival Feira Preta.

Adriana Barbosa is the Executive Director of the Instituto Feira Preta and the founder of the Feira Preta Festival. She holds a degree in Event Management and a specialization in Cultural Management from the Latin American Center for Culture and Communication Studies at ECA – USP. Adriana has a career in the cultural and business sectors marked by her commitment to promoting racial equality and valuing Afro-Brazilian culture. Recognizing the growth of Afroconsumption in Brazil, which represents the money generated by Black people circulating within the Black community, she seized the opportunity to create an economic-cultural enterprise with an ethnic focus—an innovative idea that was still little explored at the time. By aligning this insight with the goal of combating structural racism and encouraging Black entrepreneurship, she founded Feira Preta in 2002, initially as a small street fair, which has since grown into the largest Black culture fair in Latin America. Adriana Barbosa is also the founder of the Instituto Feira Preta, an Afrocentric organization aimed at the training and development of Black entrepreneurs. Through the Instituto Feira Preta, Adriana has worked to expand business opportunities for the Black community, stimulating entrepreneurship and fostering the creation of support networks and collaborative economies. Adriana Barbosa's work has been widely recognized both nationally and internationally.
